The Changing of Minds

By Grant Marshall

How does a person become lawless?

The scripture tells us that in the latter days, lawlessness will abound.

Matthew 24 reads: 9-14

v 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

If there is one thing we must take from this passage, it is this; ‘the love of many will grow cold’. The Royal command tells us that we are not only to love God but we must love our neighbour as ourselves.

Matthew 22:“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others]

in our modern technological society, we are, in the Western world, especially, consumed with the idea of change. There is great discontentment among us and so we seek to change anything that we can, simply because we view it as unacceptable to our relative viewpoint, and we are using every excuse possible to bring it about. Diversity, the celebratory term for all things different and exciting, is the undercurrent that I believe, destabilises a culture. Diversity in culture, I agree can be exciting and celebratory, but when it has the power to change the moral and social norms into a confusing mass of incoherent and incomprehensible standards we are in danger of some kind of civil conflict. Relative and personal viewpoints forced on consensual agreements by the majority is nothing short of mental abuse. For example, we cannot accept at any level, the notion that a person can identify as another creature when they stand in front of others who agree to the standards of normality that the person they are viewing is a human.

From faces to food, we want to make shifts from what we look like to how and what we should be eating. We can redefine ourselves and reshape ourselves, outwardly and mentally. But what is more concerning to me, is the power we put upon experts and professionals to redefine us. Our bias, fundamentally, comes from our earliest education.  Mental health, I believe, affects therefore a whole chain of influencers. The sufferer and those who diagnose the conditions are both participants in the process.

Addressing the functionality of a different kind of food, that being of the spiritual kind, we find ourselves in a pervasive agenda to remove God’s word from every aspect of human life. For those who believe in a creator God, man is not the creator of himself.  The idea of reshaping and redefining the human race removes the hand and the wisdom of the creator.

Social media platforms have become an incredible evil used against us for social and nefarious change, thus it has become the conduit used to syphon down the message, hardening the heart with its petrifying flood. It’s been trickling the stuff, more so, in recent decades and we are reaping what has grown from its seed.

Returning to Matthew’s passage, we must ask why the love of many grows cold. The answer is a simple one. It is because the law of God is being attacked and His rule is being ignored. Loving our neighbour will no longer be our priority because the love of self will take its place. The love of one’s self is not directed toward God, and so we see the love for God and the love for others diminish, removing the prime command.

God tells us that we are born from the seed of the first Adam and it was from this man, that corruption came. From him, we receive the curse of sickness and mortality.

1 Corinthians 15. 44 it is sown a natural body [mortal, suited to earth], it is raised a spiritual body [immortal, suited to heaven]. As surely as there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written [in Scripture], “The first man, Adam, became a living soul (an individual);” the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving spirit [restoring the dead to life].

Romans 5: 12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned. 13 For sin was in the world before the law was given; but sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed.

For us to be redeemed from this curse and eventually restored to as near as possible to God’s presence, God gave us the law written and sealed by a covenant. Covenants break when the laws that hold its constitution are broken.

When the laws or the teachings of the Torah are removed, the people become lawless. In the rise of an aggressive form of atheism, the denial of God adds gravitas to the soul which relishes the freedom to do what it wants without consequence. If there is no God, then God cannot judge me and this is the arrogance of the proud.

What has been on my mind recently, is the level of ineptitude, the lack of common sense and the heightened awareness of disregard in the secular world for what is going on and how dysfunctional we are becoming, and on top of this, the ignorance of many within the church who have remained closeted within a church bubble unaware of its weakening position and its influence.

In recent years, studies have been made into the causes and symptoms of ADHD and Social Anxiety Disorder. Though science is still debating the link between diet and ADHD, Social Anxiety has become more acute since the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic.

(Before we move on, I do not want to undermine good practice or the reality of severe and chronic mental health issues. Statistics show that 25% of the population will experience a mental health issue, resulting in anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and eating disorders, for example. We as a species have a propensity to concentrate on the negative, which naturally will affect our mental well-being)

However, our sudden lack and inability to communicate normally on a human-to-human level somehow escapes, specifically,  the current generation, whose minds seem locked into the blue screens of the digital and the virtual worlds.

Social media platforms have made it possible for people to react in extreme ways, saying and doing whatever they like in total disregard of what is accepted within the social norms with a perceived anonymity.

When we communicate face-to-face human response works on multiple levels. We have, through language and vision, decoded the way of acceptable forms of communication. As we navigate through all our senses we can even read the body language of others, letting us know how our communication is being received and how we should respond.

Social network platforms remove most of this sensory information and delay our reactions considerably. In this respect, we don’t realise how dysfunctional we are becoming. Just like, texting, for example, can remove the emotional content and nuances of the sounds of language, speaking over the various networks removes the dynamics of all we need to be successful communicators.

But, why, do you think we are failing so miserably in our communication skills? Is there some schizophrenia within the mind of the populous and is the diversity card being played too aggressively?

I have, I hope, already outlined the consequences of what happens to a society when we remove God from the community. I am convinced, more than ever, that this passage in Romans 1 gives us the answer so profoundly.

Romans 1:18-32

God’s Wrath against Sin

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonouring of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise!f Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them over to dishonourable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. 31 They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless.

32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them.

Wokeism is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as:

Progressive or left-wing attitudes or practices, esp. those opposing social injustice or discrimination, that are viewed as doctrinaire, self-righteous, pernicious, or insincere. Hence: such attitudes or practices are seen as constituting a collective social movement or agenda.

Social attitudes through wokeism have thus caused a rift in thinking from those of previous generations and the current one.  It prevents the parent and the adult, who are considered to be the primary carers of children from teaching what is right and acceptable. Power and licence as a consequence is transferred to those who should have a delegated duty to educate and prepare children for productive citizenship, the ability to promote wokesim and liberal agendas through sublime and nefarious channels. That’s why wokeism was designed.

The New World Order,  through a global partnership, incorporates Alice Bailey’s 10-point plan for the removal of Christianity from society and pushes for the use of the education system to begin the process of dissolving the resolve to find any use for God in our daily lives. Teachers, therefore, become the agents of implementation for the systematic destruction of family structure.

The woke society defines what is socially acceptable, and that my friends, leaves most of what God teaches us, out of the frame.

Without the scaffold of the civil and moral laws laid down in scripture, society will fall and the kingdom of pride will be raised to the ground just as it was when Satan fell.

The Word of God is meant to transform a debased mind. Without it, the mind remains debased.

That is where we are.  We must remember that what we take into our bodies is as important as what we take into our minds. Both types of food change the soul. One brings life and the other brings death. Is the line blurred? That’s what we need to ask ourselves.

Let us remind ourselves of this passage:

Exodus 34 “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth (faithfulness); 7 keeping mercy and lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; but He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting (avenging) the iniquity (sin, guilt) of the fathers upon the children and the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations [that is, calling the children to account for the sins of their fathers].

Let us put some things into context. This passage does not tell us that the children are responsible for their parents’ sins. It tells us that the children will feel the repercussions of the parent’s sins.

Furthermore, let us consider this point. All the elders and the wise among the community who fail to teach the children the ways of God are responsible for the repercussions.

If we feed the children fast food, then it’s only a matter of course that we will find minds racing uncontrollably along the highway to hell. Generations will be lost unless the wisdom of the elders comes back into force. This is why repentance is so badly needed.

Finally, we must also realise that parts of the body are also dysfunctional. This has come about because the wise have become foolish and have allowed the social and secular viewpoints to overrule the supreme counsel of God. There is, however, hope for this way of stinky thinking — we must return to God and repent. Though God’s mercy will temper the judgements to come,  we must not be ignorant of the price that must be paid.

Shalom.

Grant
